If you heading towards Thrissur or beyond from Nedumbassery Airport or Kochi International Airport in Kerala, for breakfast you could stop in Angamaly, which is about 30 minutes or less from the airport.
We stopped at Anand Bhawan for breakfast on Kalady Road. It was 11.00 a.m. and they had only four dishes to offer – Masala Dosa, Ghee Roast, Poori Bhaji and Vada Sambar. We ignored the oily pooris and ordered the other three dishes.
I made sure that the Masala Dosa was almost oil free and the dosa came with tomato chutney, coconut chutney and piping hot sambar. The dosa was crisp, the chutney’s fresh with a hint of spice and sambar superlative.
The Ghee Roast was crispy as we desired and was served with all the accompaniments mentioned earlier and an extra vada.
The Vada Sambar, in comparison to the previous dishes was far inferior and was almost bland.
The piping hot filter coffee and tea compensated for this!
All these came for around Rs 200!
