Aubaine: Piccadilly wonder

We were heading towards Mayfair from Trafalgar Square when the hunger pangs struck. We quickly got into Heddon Street, which is fairly packed with restaurants, the famous one being celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon Street Kitchen.

tableWe decide to grab a quick bite from Aubaine, which overlooks the Heddon Street Kitchen. It was a pleasant sunny afternoon and we decided to sit outside.

breadOur order was a simple Fish and Chips. It took about 15 minutes for the dish to get to our table. But we were also given a bread basket with two kinds of bread and butter and tomato ketchup and mayonnaise on the side. The batter fried fillet of cod itself was beautifully presented with greens, chips and tartar sauce. The fish was fresh and flaky and was one of the best I tasted during this trip.

fish-n-chipsThough Aubaine specialises in French cuisine, the traditional Fish and Chips did not disappoint me. Great service too!
