Few foods travel in the knapsacks of nomadic Turkic tribes and served at gourmet luncheons in France! Cheese is one of them.
Tantalisingly aromatic, sharp or smooth, blue or red, soft or hard, strong or mild, Passion Cheese brings to you cheeses of the world. One can indulge in the fresh creaminess of Mascarpone from the Lombardy region of Italy and the tangy, soft, crumbly Feta of Greece.
Unlike most cheeses, we offer rennet-free, 100 per cent pure vegetarian, guilt-free passion. One can choose from an array of flavours with passionate twists of garlic, onion, cumin and coriander, conjured especially for the Indian palette.
All these handcrafted cheeses are available at the Passion Cheese store on the ground floor at the Select Citywalk Mall in Saket, New Delhi. These are made in Hisar, Haryana, by Poshtik Milk Products Pvt. Ltd (started in 1995).
At the Passion Cheese store, one can choose Cheddar, Gouda, Edam (these are the ones with red rind), Parmesan, Mozzarella, Ricotta, Feta, Mascarpone, Sour Cream, Emmental (savoury, but mild taste and the cheese is charaterised by holes formed when the cheese matures) and processed cheese spreads available in a variety of flavours including parika, black pepper, jalapenos and green chilli.
My favourites are the Smoked Cheddar, the garlic and paprika cheese spreads and Feta in olive oil. These can be just added to your salad or devoured with any kind of bread.
Prices are much lower than the imported variety of cheeses and they range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per kg. Worth trying!
