A month back, we tried to get a reservation in Pirates of Grill in the DLF Mall of India, Noida, and we returned disappointed since they were booked to the brim. After few days, we decided to visit this restaurant again and since we were slightly early, we got a nice table.
The restaurant is probably the biggest in the mall and is decorated sticking to theme of pirates. There are few live counters and a decent bar which divide the dining area.
We were served soups – Veg Manchow Soup and Chicken Hot and Sour Soup along with a basket of garlic bread and chatpata starter.
On the grill were Mutton Seekh, Punjabi Murg Tikka and Roasted Garlic Prawn.
We were also served a wonderful Potato Salsa, Churrasco Pineapple, Bhatti Ka Murgh, Ginger Fried Fish with Tartar Sauce, Crispy Corn Salta and Pepper. The Chicken Dimsums they served were quite good.
In salads, they had Chicken Pineapple Salad, Mac & Cheese Salad, Corn and Pepper Salad, Bean Sprout Salad, Raw Pappaya Salad, Vinegar Onion and Fresh Green Salad. I wish they had more leaves and peppers – in the salad.
I also tried their Chicken Biryani, Mutton Rogan Josh and Dal Makhni.
My next platter had Chilli Garlic Noodles with Prawns and Chicken and Diced Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce.
I also tried the desserts – Strawberry Mousse, which was luckily sugar free, Moong Dal ki Halwa, Gulab Jamun and freshly made Jalebis (the last two get your sugar levels to couple of hundreds).
My comment on the spread, which Pirates of Grill offer is this. It is good food and could be certainly better. The quality of the soup, seafood and kebabs could also be improved. The service is good and prompt and they get all the stars. Overall, a lovely place to dine with your family and friends.
A last word. I quite liked the leather folder shaped like a pirate cap in which the check was presented. I only missed Jack Sparrow!
