We ordered couple of vodkas and a sangria to cool ourselves.
We also ordered Prawn Har Gow and Fish Balls in Pepper. The Prawn Har Gow was fresh and a bite to it. The Fish Balls in Pepper was steamed Indian Basa served in a black pepper saurce with onion and peppers. Both the starters were quite good.
For the main course, we ordered Harissa Spiced Chicken, Herb Crusted Red Snapper and Steamed Black Cod in Miso Sauce. The boneless breast and thigh pieces of chicken marinated in Tunisian hot chilli pepper paste, was perfectly done and delicious. It was served on a polenta steak with greens and a creamy jalapeno sauce.
The red snapper dish had a succulent portion of the fish served on a bed of sauteed vegetables served with a citrus saffron sauce.
But the star of the evening was the steamed cod enriched with the fermented Miso sauce. An absolute delight. The steamed portion of the fish was quite small and it was quite expensive (about Rs 1,700). But the flavour of this flaky fish compensated for the rest.
I enjoyed the food at Town Hall, though the restaurant is expensive. I also wish, they had comfortable seating (the wooden chairs are not at all comfortable, if you are going to sit for longer hours; but they have comfortable sofas if you just want to have a drink and relax) and cooler interiors (it was warm inside the restaurant).
The well groomed staff needs a pat on the back for their excellent service.
