The good-old Swagath restaurant in Defence Colony, New Delhi, has just finished a major revamp of their exterior and in interior spaces. The restaurant in its new décor looks more plush and roomier than the earlier version. For the foodies like me, what is really exciting is the revamped menu with mouth-watering authentic continental dishes. Here is a preview…
In the continental soups they have included Gamberi Soup (prawn soup) and Crab Soup for the seafood lovers and Wild Mushroom Soup and Cold Cucumber Soup for the vegans. In salads you will get Tuna and Beans Salad and Smoked Chicken and Avacado Salad apart from the Greek Salad and Caesar Salad.
They also have included an interesting array of appetisers like Cigar Rolls, Mushroom Boom (mushrooms marinated in balsamic vinegar served with peri peri sauce), Skin Potachos (baked potato skins loaded with cheese served salsa and sour cream), Nachos with three dips and Fungi Fritti (rustic tomato sauce topped with crispy chicken sausages).
They also have Crab Cakes (priced at Rs 1,395), Sizzling Gamberi (grilled jumbo prawns in garlic butter sauce), Pan Fried Spicy Fish Strips, Champagne Prawns and Crunchy Sausages.
In the main course, apart from a exciting variety of pastas, lasagne, pizzas and sandwiches, you will get to order Norwegian Salmon (Rs 1,395), New Zealand Lamb Chops (Rs 1,495), Baked Sole (Rs 695) and steaks according to your palate.
But Swagath has not tampered with existing menu. So, you still will be able to try their Mangalorean specialties, north India food and Chinese dishes (they are good!).
For the party-goers like me there is a 1+1 offer on all IMFL brands. Now that should be good enough reason to head towards this restaurant!
